PADI IDC Staff Course at Lanta Diver
As a certified PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you can independently teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course and assist Course Directors during PADI Instructor Development Courses & Specialty Instructor Training Courses. During the PADI IDC Staff course, you will also refresh your dive theory and standards knowledge, learn to evaluate and critique IDC candidates’ presentations, and become a better, more employable PADI Instructor. At Lanta Diver, we conduct all our training whilst neutrally buoyant, and you will become efficient at teaching this way too.
Our in-house Platinum PADI Course Director, Richard Reardon, will guide you through the process of becoming a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, passing on his wealth of knowledge and experience along the way.
The IDC Staff courses at Lanta Diver are scheduled to start two days before each of our PADI IDCs. During these two days, you will learn about the PADI scoring system used to evaluate IDC candidates’ teaching presentations. You will also complete a PADI Skill Circuit, dive theory & standards exams, and discuss the role & responsibilities of a PADI IDC Staff Instructor.

The first two days are the same as the longer option, and over the next two days, you will present sections of the IDC to our Course Director, who will evaluate and critique your presentations.
What do you pay?
The cost for the PADI IDC Staff Course is 22,500 Thai Baht per person. You will also need the PADI Course Director Manual (16,500 Thai baht), and the two PADI Evaluation Slates (2,000 Thai baht x 2), and at the end of the training you will need to pay the PADI Application fee. The PADI fee, payable direct to PADI at the end of the training, would be AUD$181.
