PADI Open Water Course Thailand

1. Knowledge development

For the theory part of the PADI Open Water Course Thailand you will have 2 options:
1. Traditional classroom-based study using books and watching videos guided by your instructor.
2. PADI eLearning online using your computer or phone.

Classroom-based theory knowledge development is done in our classroom and designed to teach you the dive theory. Knowledge development is where you will learn the principles, concepts, and terms necessary to become a PADI Open water diver in the relaxed and comfortable environment of our AC classrooms. We also ask for some self-study before the course begins.

PADI eLearning theory has the same content as the classroom option but is done online. If you are short on time or want to have the dive theory completed before you come to Koh Lanta on holiday, then you can consider completing the theory portion of the course using PADI E-learning.

2. Confined water dives

Confined Water dives are where you head to the pool to complete a number of basic diving skills. These skills are explained and demonstrated by the instructor before you have to repeat the skill. The skills are designed to familiarize yourself with the equipment, learn basic buoyancy skills and also how to be safe underwater while diving.

3. Open Water dives

The most fun part of the PADI Open Water Course Thailand! Open Water Diving is going to either Koh Haa or Koh Bida to dive in the ocean and putting all the skills and training you have learnt in the classroom/online and pool into practice. The first two dives are to 12m and then the last two dives are to maximum 18m.

The second option allows you to watch all videos at home before the course starts (you can borrow a tablet from us) and on the first day, you will complete all theory and the pool sessions. Day 2 and 3 you’re on the boat doing your 4 Open Water dives.
