- Easily the best managed and the most seamlessly run dive shop I have patronized in last ten years. My family of 4 dived with them earlier this week. My wife and a daughter did their Open Water certification โฆ More while my other daughter did her Advanced OW. I tagged along for my fun dives.
There are multiple aspects I appreciated in my experience with this shop.
1. Booking experience: Julie, their wonderful orchestrator, helped me plan my family dives months in advance. She always responded within the day for all offline mails and almost immediately on whatsapp. Super patient, kind, and helpful in her communication. Much appreciated! ๐
2. Check in and orientation: We checked in on day 0 upon our arrival in Lanta. Gaz helped us fill in the paperwork. Oriented us with the plan for next few days. Answered our queries very patiently.
3. OW course: OW students had their pool session. Car picked them up right on time from our hotel. Their instructor, Non, was an epitome of patience through the next 3 days. He absolutely helped my wife overcome her mental blocks and was a constant calming presence throughout the lessons and ocean dives. A big shout out to Non for taking care of half my family through their 6 dives!โค๏ธ
4. AOW course: On Day 2, Sam, the divemaster who instructed my other daughter for AOW, greeted us in the shop. He coached and challenged her through the advanced skills with each dive. I joined them for the first deep dive. It was a lovely experience.
5. Fun dives and flexibility: I, as an advanced OW diver, had the flexibility to move from one dive group to another during my fun dives. I dived with Sam, Rebecca, Non, Sea, and Elsa. We did a total of 6 dives each over two days near Koh Bida and Koh Haa. Beautiful corals, caves, spawning/nurseries although big ones (sharks, whales, turtles) remained elusive.
6. Boat, equipments, and processes: We dived in one of their bigger boats. Squeaky clean, seamlessly organized, and amply equipped (they have bunk beds to rest as well ๐). Food - breakfast, fruits, lunches were absolutely delicious and nutritious. Attention to details was apparent in every nook and corner. Safety checks had multiple eyes. All equipment was arranged with precision. The briefings were in detail per group per dive. Feedback was detailed and actionable and dive logs were insisted upon unlike other dive shops. Patience and kindness was all around. Boat crew was enthusiastic in orchestrating all of this. Sandra and Chris were the professional photographers on different days. Chris clicked some amazing pictures. Kudos to them all!
7. Community: I think all of this positive vibe was infectious to all the participants in two days. We made some good friends during our dives. They all made our experience all that memorable.
I was a bit apprehensive in the beginning in having my entire family go through this learning experience. By the time our first dive ended, I was fully confident that I made the right decision with them. Could not be prouder of my diver family and my eternal gratitude to the wonderful team of Lanta Diver who made it possible ๐ - Had an amazing experience with them, super fun and really professional. Loved it!!!!
- We had an excellent day diving Koh Haa with the Lanta Diver team. We did a quick refresh and had 3 fun dives around the islands with delicious breakfast, lunch and snacks between. The dives were stunning โฆ More with beautiful soft corals and marine life. Our divemaster Vera was knowledgeable and above all made us feel really safe. Can highly recommend this company for anyone looking to dive in Koh Lanta.
- We booked a Koh Haa snorkeling trip with Lanta Diver and it ended up being one of those days that stays with you. The pickup from the hotel was smooth, the team greeted us with smiles, and the boat had โฆ More a relaxed, friendly feel that set the tone right away. The food on board was so good I went back for seconds, real comfort dishes that hit the spot after each swim.
Brigitte, our guide, made the whole experience special. She talked with us all day, kept the group laughing, and showed us things we never would have noticed on our own. She didnโt rush anything; she made us feel safe, welcome, and curious. It felt like being out on the water with someone who genuinely loves what she does. We've even see a black tip shark twice, mureens and sea snakes, and a octopus from a far!
Everything ran with an easy rhythm, the price made total sense for how cared for we felt, and Koh Haa was the kind of beautiful that almost feels unreal. If youโre in Koh Lanta and want a day that feels warm, fun, and a bit magical, go with these folks! You won't regret it ๐
